Chevrolet Dealership Search for Chevy Buyers
Being prepared is often the best defense against getting taken by a chevy car dealer or buying a bad lemon. Before you begin looking for a car at a Chevrolet dealer or from a private party, decide what auto features you need to have and how much you can afford to purchase. Always compare Chevrolet dealer prices with prices from private parties in your area to find the best deal. Pricing will vary a lot depending on the condition and age of the used vehicle so be sure to review details such as mileage, maintenance records, tire tread, and it's smart to have a local mechanic check out the car before you buy.

US Mayors Articles US Carmakers Should Put the Brakes on Urban ...
When Gabrielle Auto Group began operating Bill Gordon Chevrolet in downtown Rochester, and started turning sales around, they expected congratulations from GM. Instead, GM decided to close them down. And when Hernbrough Motors recently sought to expand its car dealership in economically distressed Rockford (IL), General Motors in a move that has become all too common among the Big Three automakers told the dealer to relocate or risk losing the franchise. This national trend is occurring even as some of the nation's leading car dealerships are flourishing in urban areas. Longo Toyota, the top-selling dealership in the country, has flourished in otherwise economically distressed El Monte (CA), near Los Angeles. Friendly Chevrolet recently announced plans to open a new $10 million dealership in downtown Dallas, and, 26 dealerships in Oakland (CA), are working with that city to create an urban automall because they want to remain in downtown. In Dallas, Friendly Chevrolet has operated out of an inner city neighborhood for years and yet it has become one of GM's top dealerships, selling 3,883 cars in 1995. The dealership is relocating this year, but it will remain in the city at a site near the downtown and adjacent to the Stemmons Freeway.

Insider Racing News Archives 6-23-03 to 6-30-03
Evans Motorsports today announced that Randy LaJoie has been released as the driver of its No. 7 Chevrolet in the Busch Series. The team said defending Busch Series champion Greg Biffle, who now drives for Roush Racing in the Winston Cup Series, will drive for the team in Fridays Winn-Dixie 250 Busch Series race at Daytona International Speedway and other races later in the season. It also said Joe Nemechek could be expected to drive a few races as well. Evans Motorsports also said it was fining LaJoie $25,000 for comments it deemed detrimental to the team and Nemco Motorsports, which fields Nemechek in the Busch Series. LaJoie, a 41-year-old Connecticut native who has been competing in the Busch Series on and off since 1986, was 16th in the point standings this year, with two top-five and four top-10 finishes in the seasons 17 races. Even though his current contract did not run out until the end of the 2004 season, Bobby Labonte and Joe Gibbs Racing wasted little time in renegotiating their existing contract to keep Labonte in the #18 Chevrolet Monte Carlo through the end of the 2008 season. Taking over the driving duties at the beginning of 1995 following Dale Jarrett's departure, Labonte quickly established himself as a force to be reckoned with as he scored three victories in his first season with Gibbs. Since that time, Labonte has gone on to win an impressive 20 races in 283 career starts since joining Joe Gibbs Racing. In addition to the victories, Labonte and the #18 team have been amazingly consistent, recording 101 top-5 and 163 top-ten finishes against only 45 DNF's during that time. Most impressive of those feats though has to be their 2000 NASCAR Winston Cup Series championship in which Labonte failed to finish only nine laps out of 10,237 possible laps run that season.

Simms Chevrolet
Simms Chevrolet was not known before 1957. It was a company started by a man from Grand Rapids with a desire to build a business. He packed up all of belongings, said goodbye to his hometown and proceeded East to the small town of Clio with his wife and family. Upon arrival he made his first major investment into Friendly Chevrolet. It was a partnership that would provide the opportunities that Jack Simms had hoped for. This small family store had all the right ingredients to grow into something big.

Contests: Using a first foray into NASCAR stock car racing has led to some tremendous marketing success for Friendly Ice Cream Corporation. Sponsor of the #37 Friendly's Chevrolet and driver Derrike Cope, Friendly's has been using a new racing web site and a unique consumer promotion to promote its ice cream and restaurants. The results have been strong. The "Ultimate Race Weekend" is the Grand Prize. The winner and a friend will spend the Sept. 14 New Hampshire weekend with Cope in a motorcoach at the speedway. Cope: Friendly Ice Cream Corporation will sponsor Quest Motor Racing and the #37 Chevy of driver Derrike Cope in 2003. The announcement was made today. Friendly's, a family restaurant company serving signature sandwiches, entrees and ice cream desserts, will sponsor Cope for the majority of NASCAR Winston Cup races this season, continuing a sponsorship which began last season. The first race will be February's Daytona 500. NASCAR and Friendlys demographics are similar, becoming a sponsor and getting involved with NASCAR is a great fit for Friendlys. This sponsorship fulfills a marketing objective for Friendlys of increasing brand awareness. UPDATE: or could this be Cope in the BGN only at Bristol? Food City is joining forces with Labor Ready to sponsor Derrike Cope in Friday's BGN Food City 250 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Derrike has driven the #94 Chevrolet in select BGN series races in 2001. Food City will adorn the quarter panels and Food City Pharmacy the TV panel.
