All categories were awarded to the low dollar bidders except for the Patrol Car and Emergency Utility Vehicle categories. The low dollar bidder in the Patrol Car category was Karl Chevrolet who bid a Chevy Impala. The Chevrolet Impala does not meet fleet specifications concerning the body size, wheelbase and engine size. The next low dollar bidder was Dewey Ford whose Crown Victoria does meet specifications. The low dollar bidder for the Emergency Utility Vehicles was Charles Gabus Ford who bid a Ford Explorer. This vehicle does not meet horsepower specifications. The next low dollar bidder was Karl Chevrolet.

Karl Rynish, sales manager at Karl's Chevrolet in Colfax, says lots of people are looking at fuel efficient vehicles, but many still need a truck. He says they can get a Silverado hybrid pickup in six to eight weeks. He also steers those commuters and others whose main concern is the cost of filling their tanks to the Aveo, Malibu, Cobalt and Impala.
