Major revisions to the manual and automatic transmissions provide Corvette with significant improvements geared towards performance driving. The Tremec six-speed manual gearbox is available with two sets of ratios, one with more aggressive acceleration characteristics reserved for Corvettes Z51 Performance Package that emulates the performance of the C5s landmark Z06 model. Improved shifting characteristics are another major improvement, with new synchronizers that reduce travel by 10 percent, and a shifter knob that is an inch shorter and redesigned for greatly improved driver operation.

When it came to getting the cab and bed perfectly straight, Jeff enlisted the help of Jeff Nelson. The custom work was kept to a minimum. After the emblems and filler neck were shaved, the concentration was on getting the truck perfectly straight. On the back end, however, the stake pockets were filled and the bedrail ends were capped off. A roll pan was installed, and the fenders were cut for Billet Specialties taillights. When the truck was nearing perfection, it was turned over to Mike and Greg Wilson of Landmark Body and Paint who shot the mile-deep Torch Red paint.

Chevrolet began when William Durant hired Louis Chevrolet, a Swiss race-car driver and star of the Buick Racing Team, to design a new car. Durant hoped to challenge the success of the Ford Model T with an affordable, reliable car. Chevrolet wanted to design a finer sort of automobile, however. Their product, the Classic Six, was an elegant car with a large price tag. But Durant built two more models, sturdier and cheaper, and Chevy was on its way. Durant eventually made over a million dollars in profits on his Chevrolet marque, money that allowed him to reacquire a majority interest in General Motors (GM) stock. Durant eventually merged the two companies and created GM's current configuration.

Circuit Court of Appeals rejected three of four claims brought by George W. Plumley of Texas whose deal for a used pickup truck fell through when the car dealer learned Plumley had AIDS. Plumley, who has since died, sued Landmark Chevrolet for slander, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act.
