Because the vehicle was equipped with a global positioning system, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg police located the Chevrolet Suburban defendant had obtained using the counterfeit certified check in a garage on North Tryon Street in Charlotte on 4 August 2000. When the police arrived, defendant was standing beside the Suburban with the keys in his pocket. The police discovered a helmet, several checks, and a briefcase inside the Suburban.

Randy McDaniel of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas (fourth from left) won a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox for hitting a hole-in-one at the RCC Golf Classic. The hole-in-one contest was sponsored by Reliable Chevrolet. For the second year in a row, Leo & Barbara Eveleth's team won the low gross. With a best ball score of 55, Terry Butterfield of UTD, Leo Eveleth of UTD, Chris Gage of UTD, and Joe Stack of UBS, mastered the course. With a net score of 56, Bill Denton of Richardson Parks & Recreation, Bill Turner of Cray Computers, Jim Wardrup of Hewlett Packard, and John Wilson who is retired, won the first place spot for low net.
